Jitendra J. Gupta

Jitendra’s area of expertise encompasses inbound and outbound investment advisory, international taxations, transfer pricing and start-up structuring.

In his illustrious career spanning over three decades, Jitendra has advised multinational and domestic companies on strategic issues related to overseas company formation, foreign exchange regulations and cross-border taxation including transfer pricing. During his stint in the current organisation since December 2014, he has worked extensively on corporate M&A, group and transaction restructuring, start-ups structuring buy/sell due diligence, ESOP taxation and valuation. He has been involved in advising clients on tax and regulatory aspects related to inbound and outbound investments. He has represented clients before tax authorities including Dispute Resolution Panel and Tax Tribunal, in resolving complex transfer pricing disputes. He has successfully handled compounding matters under foreign exchange regulations. He has been involved in advising clients on high end testamentary litigation and arbitration matters.

Before venturing into his own professional practice, he worked with Management Consulting department of Haribhakti & Co., where he was primarily involved in business re-engineering process of large size companies. Later, at S B Billimoria & Co. (now part of Deloitte group), he was part of audit team where he was involved in statutory audit of large Indian Business Conglomerates.

With penchant for unconventional and challenging professional opportunities, he along with other like-minded professionals founded a Limited Liability Partnership firm of Chartered Accountants where he was deeply involved in firm’s strategic thrust in the area of international taxations and other cross-disciplinary arena. During his stint as Founding Partner of the firm, he was highly acknowledged as an innovative thought leader and ‘out of box’ thinker and known for strategic planning capabilities and inclusive leadership style.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also registered as ‘Registered Valuer for asset class-Securities or Financial Assets’ with Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India.

As a co-author, he has contributed to the publication titled ‘Law and Practice of Transfer Pricing in India-A Compendium’ by Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society.
