T. P. Ostwal (fondly addressed as ‘TP’) is the founding partner of the firm and has been in practice since 1978.
TP has extensive experience in advising national and multinational clients in direct tax, personal tax, transfer pricing, business acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures etc in addition to the traditional areas of audit & assurance and company law. Over 30 years, he has extensively advised a host of corporate and business houses engaged in diverse range of businesses on cross border transactions.
TP has been named as the 11th in the top 50 Tax Professionals in the world for the year 2006-07 by Tax-Business magazine of UK in Nov 2006. Under his dynamic leadership, the firm M/s. T. P. Ostwal & Associates LLP was rated as one of the Best Tier 2 Firms of India by World Tax, The Comprehensive Guide to the World's Leading Tax Firms,for 2009-2010 and was also named amongst first 10 Leading Transfer Pricing Advisors in India.
He is ex-vice chairman of IFA-Netherlands. He is ex- chairman of International Fiscal Association (‘IFA’)-India Branch. He represented India as a panelist on “Taxation of E-commerce – Policy Issues” at the 55th Annual Congress of IFA – Netherlands held at San Francisco, United States of America.

Expert Committee set up by Central Board of Direct Taxes for framing Transfer Pricing Regulation in India.
‘Satawalekar Committee’ on Real Estate Mutual Funds.
He has been appointed as the member of ‘Expert Group on Transfer Pricing’ constituted by United Nations. Presently, he is appointed a Member of Advisory Committee on International Tax and Transfer Pricing setup by the Govt. of India in 2012.
He has contributed many technical papers, delivered speeches and chaired technical presentations on the subject of international taxation and transfer pricing at various national and international forums.
He is on Board of several companies in India listed and unlisted including subsidiaries of multinational companies.
